We have the spaces and the remedies! With Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg, Daelik, Kevin Fraser, Jeanette Kotowich and Carolina Bergonzoni, I'm organizing DIY@DIV Nov 22–26. Featuring new shows by prOphecy sun + Luciana Freire D’Anunciação, plastic orchid factory, Eric Cheung aka Squidjit, Joshua Ongcol, Jennifer Mcleish-Lewis, Tara Cheyenne Friedenberg, Daisy Thompson, Lexi Vajda. There are parties too! DIY@DIV runs alongside the Dance In Vancouver biennale.

We are META. Our body is not one thing. We are fluid, messy and protean. We are fragments creating loops with ourselves and others.

As winner of the Iris Garland Emerging Choreographer Award, I'm creating, performing and producing META Oct 27 & 28, 8pm @ Scotiabank Dance Centre.

Created in collaboration w/ performers Kim Sato, Justine A. Chambers; costume & set artist Natalie Purschwitz; lighting designer James Proudfoot, inside eyes Erika Mitsuhashi, Katie Lowen and accompanying writer Alexa Mardon; META performs a fluidity of persona, within ourselves and between each other.

META is generously supported by the British Columbia Arts Council and The Dance Centre.

I'm teaching Working Class Oct 16, 18 + 20, 10–11:30am. I'll be sharing some of what we've been working on for META, my biggest show yet, which we're performing the following week.

I'm producer/curator of Interplay 2017. Shows are Sep 8 & 9 @ Moberly Arts Centre and features multidisciplinary approaches to performance by Jessica Leung, Claire Love Wilson, Brian Postalian, Shelby Wright & Katie Lyle and Nita Bowerman. There are also workshops, group bike rides to the shows and post-show socials. Please join us at Vancouver's only fieldhouse theatre for this end-of-summer event!

I'm teaching Working Class Jul 17, 19, 21, 10–11:30am. How does someone who kinda hates dance class, teach dance class? A colleague recently told me that it's necessary to 'document' my physical practice. Sharing it with you is a sort of document and will greatly inform my work as I return to creation for my next show. Thanks in advance!

I'm creating and performing "solo" with Ziyian Kwan and Lorenz Santos for performances at the Dancing on the Edge Festival this July 12 + 14 @ Firehall Arts Centre.

“solo” explores flesh, subjectivity and perception. How do we share our materiality? How is it met by other bodies and things? What does our gaze impose upon embodiment?

This Jun 12–19 I am in Toronto at 8 Days VI, joining several fellow choreographers for an intensive, co-authored encounter for peer-to-peer research and development in the field of dance and choreography in Canada.

I'm working with plastic orchid factory on their Obstructions project. Showing is Jun 11, 6pm @ Left of Main

I'm heading back into the studio as outside eye with Jeanette Kotowich, who's prepping for a DanceLab showing of her work with Wayne Lavellee, as a part of The Dance Centre's International Dance Day events this Apr 29.

Dancers Playing Basketball: We are a group of dance artists who’ve been gathering to play basketball, in which we have varying degrees of experience. Some of us had never touched a ball before. I played in high school. Our coach Katie Lowen played four years NCAA at SFU. We’ve got three shows coming up as a part of the 2017 Vancouver International Dance Festival: Mar 5, 12 & 19, 2pm @ Woodward's Atrium. Created and played by Katie and me, DP, in collaboration with players Natalie Gan, Walter Kubanek, Alex Tam, Blake Worthey and Erika Mitsuhashi. These shows are FREE!

I'm collaborating with plastic orchid factory on a ditty for BLiNK Feb 10, 8pm @ Russian Hall

This winter, I’m co-hosting the work of other dance artists, some times as sort of off activities to local festivals.
