In this two hour workshop, we'll begin with imagery as a way into deep sensation. We'll move between writing, sounding and dancing, creating tiny scores for ourselves, containers for practicing using our whole selves as resonators. We might try being cellular space librarians sorting through the dust of time, full-body accordions, cavernous spaces that contain our whole pasts, presents and futures... and many more things that we won't yet know until we gather our curiosities, together.
Alexa Solveig Mardon is a dance artist living and working on the unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Alexa’s practice spans movement, writing, facilitation, and community action.
Do you see what I see? In this movement-based workshop, we’ll move and play while focusing on the way we see and perceive our moving body, space, and others. What happens if we change our lenses? What can we learn from a different perspective?
